Theo Naudè's career in photography has spanned over 50 years. His interest in photography started in the 1960's when he decided to take photos on the set of an amateur movie production. Theo soon developed a keen interest in photographing people and thus began a lifetime career in professional photography. Theo's success as a portrait photographer can be attributed to his belief that "people are the most important subject". It is people who will "stay in our minds". "Just think of The Mona Lisa", he reinforces. By immortalising a moment in time we are able to reference that event and hypothesise the emotional state of the subject whether it is saying wedding vows, playing a rugby game, or the state president going about his duties. It was a natural progression for Theo to explore nude photography where the human body fulfils a complete expression and interestingly what Theo considers "just another portrait". His use of lighting exquisitely captures the undulations of the female figure, retaining her dignity while celebrating her beauty. Raw and intense, honest and poised; Theo holds the viewers attention by offering his perspective through the lens. "When I look at a beautiful girl, I think that shall make a nice photograph", quips Theo.
