ABOUT THE ARTWORK
From a series showing "hidden colors" within rock formations. These rocks look mostly gray to the human eye, I use a technique to increase color perception to make the invisible visible. The series was taken in Austria, Switzerland and France and will be continued. Printed on Hahnemuehle Torchon Fine Art Paper Signed and numbered on the front The dimensions given include a white border of about 3 cm on each side.

Born and grown up in Germany, I became an experimental physicist at the end of the 70th. Working in the field of optics and holography, I used photography and other imaging techniques to illustrate and document my scientific work. After some years, I got in touch with the esthetic elements of photography. While working for an architect in northern Germany, I began to use my camera as a creative instrument. It was a long way to get from the documentary photography to the minimalistic and sometimes abstract approach I am following today. Architecture is still one of my favorite themes, but I also apply my ideas of abstract minimalism to nature photography and other genres.
