A Jordanian dentist and oral surgeon by profession, and a self-taught photographer for many years. His work was published in local and international publications, and he exhibited in galleries and art fairs inside and outside of Jordan. His artistic journey started at an early age before discovering photography as an art medium a few years ago. Since then, Hussam has experimented with different subject matters and techniques to create a unique collection of photographs inspired by his passion for classic and contemporary art. He captures landscapes, macro subjects, portraits, and abstracts, but his main field of interest is still life photography where he developed a painterly still life photography style that echoes the artworks of Old Masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Hussam selects colors and composes the tableau for these fine art, still life images with painstaking care and an extraordinary eye for detail. He creates still life photographs that tell a visual story. Some of the images he creates tell a personal story, while others are meant to generate a nostalgic mood transferring the viewer to a time when life was much simpler and less stressful. “For me, photography is an escape that helps me to relax and forget the stresses of daily life. I hope that my images can evoke joy and emotions in others,” says Hussam who currently lives and exhibits his work in Jordan.
