ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I make photographs of glass vases and bowls in direct sunlight. So my garden is my studio. The clear shadows complete the shapes of the objects used. In this picture you see u number of vases in a vertical line. Minimalism yet colorful. This is #2 of an edition of 6. This print is also available in other dimensions (larger). This work comes with a signed copy of the book "Dots & Drone Shots". This print is a C-type photograph (Durst-Lambda-print) mounted between acrylic glass and dibond, with a profile at the back that makes the work float some two cm (nearly 1 inch) in front of the wall.

Kees Schouten, 1961, Netherlands. I graduated ArtSchool in 1984 as a painter and printmaker. I was awarded by The Dutch Art Society in 1987 (for painting). First showed photoworks in 1995. From 2010 to 2017 i only made photoworks, still lifes. In 2017 i started to make collages and prints again after quite a few years. In 2022 i had a large studio built in the corner of my garden. Since then i am painting again. I am Teaching Photography at Graphic Design College, Utrecht (NL).
