A self-portrait inspired by transformation and metamorphosis. Taken at the end of 2019 right before I became a mother for the first time. Three weeks after I created this image, I picked up my 2-year-old foster son and began a journey as a foster mother. Undoubtedly I will have many children, but this image represents the impending change that would occur weeks later as I transitioned into a new and sacred role. Photographed in 2019.
