"Dance of the Soul" (wordless 3/10) Photograph

This series is the result of a great opportunity that I had thanks to the universe and the team of staff and dancers of Acosta Danza, a Cuban contemporary dance academy under the direction of Carlos Acosta, a Cuban-British retired ballet dancer and actual director of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. For a long time I was captivated by the idea of ​​capturing the deep feelings that the exquisite performances of the Cuban dancers aroused in my soul, but this time was in tune with the artistic direction and professionalism of Acosta Danza in each of the pieces and the spectacular choreographies with their soundtracks. But I didn't want to take the traditional pictures of perfect poses, I wanted to go deeper but I didn't know how, everything happened very fast. Until I came up with the solution to go beyond the corporeal figure of the dancer. Finally, one fine day in Havana, they contact me with the "ok" to photograph the dancers during a private general rehearsal of the different repertoires of the company, which would be released the following night. Alone in the darkness of this ancient building with the shutter muted, allowing the dancers the most possible privacy while they gave themselves body and soul to their performances, I also could had the perfect peaceful environment to play with the melody of light and darkness and get the "dance of the soul". But as we know, reality exceeds imagination, so I had to achieve what was planned or exceed it, couldn’t afford to fail in this ephemeral task.
