I'm always, always looking. For grace and symmetry and kind of wabi-sabi elegance. I find these elements come together in unusual hidden places sometimes. Other times I find myself in iconic, well traversed, almost too obvious landscapes. Sometimes it works, often times it doesn't. This work is a waiting game. Waiting for light/clouds/mist/birds/waves/whatever to all come together or fall away at the capture point. It’s harder to do than it looks. And I like that about it. The tone and spirit of my work will frequently follow the ebb and flow of my mood. Sometimes the work is ahead of me and will capture what I am resisting; then it will just be quiet and still as it is within. No great surprises. I have been shooting like this for 20 years. I have a degree in Fine Arts with Photography as my major. I started my work in 1998 at Max Dupain & Associates in Sydney and I've not stopped working as a professional photographer since. I have travelled all over the world shooting and will continue to do so as long as I can. I like it. I hope you like what I do with it. Deb.
