Abandoned and derelict mining equipment litters the shore of the Skeleton Coast of Namibia in South West Africa. Here diamonds were once extacted from the thousands of miles of sand dunes that stretch along the Atlantic shoreline and relics such as this old bulldozer that I came across on safari become part of the desolate desert scenery. This image is best printed at large scale on canvas, say 30x40 at least, to fully portray the texture of the corroded iron and the angular shapes of the dozer tracks.

As a geologist and world traveler I have an eye for science and nature, inspired by the landscapes, wildlife and culture on my expeditions to Africa, Europe, South America and beyond. Between travels I split my time between Victoria BC and Houston TX. My work has been selected for juried exhibitions at the Houston Center for Photography, the Southeast Center for Photography in Greenville, South Carolina and the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis. The world throws up some amazing scenes every day and it is my goal and pleasure to capture them for friends, family and fellow inhabitants of this wonderful blue planet.
