Born 1945 in Orlando, Florida, USA

A former professional baseball player with the Houston Astros/Colt .45s organization, John has always had an interest in art but decided to try making a living as a professional athlete. After three baseball seasons a shoulder injury ended his career.

Next John worked for an electric utility company and during that time revived his interest in art by developing a passion for photography. John is a past president of the Professional Photographers of America guild of the Rio Grande Valley. During this time John had a Wedding and Portrait photography business. Interested in all facets of photography John soon began photographing wildlife and nature. Through his photographs, John enjoys sharing his vision of the beauty in nature surrounding us all and the need for habitat conservation for all wildlife. John has had several winning photographs in the prestigious Valley Land Funds Wildlife Photography Contest as well as other photographic awards.

John is a member of the Texas Photographic Society, West Texas Photographic Society & 2007 President, Big Country Audubon Society (contributing to a monthly newspaper column), and a Texas Master Naturalist and performs volunteer work for the Boy Scouts teaching merit badge classes in photography. John received the "Outstanding Volunteer Award" from the Laredo Border Olympics in 2000. John also held a one-artist show and conducted programs on wildlife photography for the Wichita Wildlight Photographic Society in Lawton, OK for which he was honored as Volunteer of the Year in 2001. John was honored as Best in Category of Photography at the 2005 State of Texas Arts and Crafts show in Kerrville and voted the Peoples Choice Award at the 2005 and 2006 showing at the Center for Contemporary Arts in Abilene, Texas. John recently received the First Place award for Two Dimensional Art at the 2006 Lawton, OK Arts for All show.

Now a full time photographer, John markets his Wildlife/Nature/Scenic photography at Art Shows/Festivals, Galleries, and in magazines, books and calendars. John also conducts Workshops on Digital, Wildlife and Nature Photography.
