This image is part of the Equine Perfection series. I have always been fascinated by wild horses. They eat only grass yet they are very muscular, powerful and yet humble. Their relationship with man can only be built through a slow process of trust, devotion and mutual confidence. If there is one phrase that in my humble opinion succinctly describes the wild white horses of the Camargue, it would be “equine perfection”. They embody the wild, the majestic and the unbreakable. And that is the message I hope this series conveys. They live on a large expanse of marsh land and brine lagoons that borders the Mediterranean sea and the Rhone river. Watching them playfully race each other on the beach was quite an experience. Imagine ten to fourteen adult horses galloping towards you at high speeds in a lagoon. Will you stay put and trust them enough to not run into you? Will you? There are 2 sizes available: 40” x 32” (Edition 1 of 10 ) + 1 AP 30” x 24” (Edition 1 of 10) $650 * Printed on acid and lignin free Hahnemuhle Photo Rag paper with pigment based inks. * Sold unframed with a 1 inch working border

Growing up on the coast of the Atlantic ocean and close to the equatorial rain forest instilled in me a fascination for the natural world which has never diminished as I have grown older. As a child, my grandma taught me to tell the time by tracking the position of shadows created by the sun. On most days after school, I and my friends would wonder into the nearby forest and pick ripe fruits from trees. At other times we would play football on the beach and go for a swim afterwards. These early interactions with the outside world was the beginning of my appreciation of the beauty, vastness and complexity of nature and our place in it as humans. Going to industrial Germany and studying Software Engineering illuminated both the extraordinary power of technology and its limitations as well. I am beholding and inspired by different ways we live and communicate in diverse environments. My photography is an expression of this diversity that I observe and live. I do not seek to impose my view of the world into my photographs but rather just capture the world as is.
