I took this photo with a Canon 5DS R during my stay in Ortigia, a little island close to Syracuse in Sicily. I used the light as a chisel shooting my body to rivive Goddesses and nymphs from ancient Greece. I got inspired by the history of the island which is based on the myth of Arethusa. Arethusa was a nymph and the God Alphaeus, son of Ocean, fell in love with her and he started to spy on her while she was bathing naked. Arethusa, however, ran away from his attentions, escaping to the island of Ortigia, in Syracuse. She asked for help from the goddess Artemis, who turned her into a fountain. Zeus, driven by the pain of Alphaues, turned him into a river, thus allowing him to travel from the Peloponnese in Greece, towards the entire Ionian sea to join the beloved one. The photo will be printed on high quality Hanhnemuhle photo rag bright white 310 g acid free and 100% cotton paper. The image size is 30 x 45 cm with a 1 cm white border. It will be shipped securely in a carton folder.
