ABOUT THE ARTWORK
"Floating world" is a series of landscape photographs inspired by Ukyio-e, the art of Japanese woodblock prints from the 17th - 19th century. Ukyio-e translates "pictures of the floating world" and shows the fleeting beauty of the moment. Christian Schmidt tried to translate the graphical language into his todays photographic world by using elements of it. The result is a series of portrait format landscape images, limited in editions, printed on beautiful Baryta paper and available in 3 editionsizes. • 18" x 11,7" - Edition of 9 + 2 AP • 27,5" x 18" - Edition of 9 + 2 AP • 39,2 x 26,3" - Edition of 3 + 2 AP Printed on Hahnemühle Baryta fine Art paper with Ultrachrome pigment ink, 325 gsm, 100% a-cellulose, acid and lignin free with a beautiful baryt like paper structure. The artwork will be shipped safely rolled in a box included by a signed certificate editionsticker. Christian is a German photographer, based near Stuttgart. He is working for over 15 years, receiving attention for his work in both worlds - Art + Commerce. His work has been awarded and exhibited several times from institutions like the AOP in London, ADC in Germany and NY, BFF in Germany, Communication Arts or AI-AP in the US.
