Goats (March 13b) - Limited Edition of 3 Photograph

Goats drew me in initially with their curiosity, playfulness, persistence, their light-colored eyes and varied-color coats. Each time I went to the farm to photograph them, something unexpected happened. They’d be in a different space with changed lighting or hanging with a new herd, and, naturally, the newborns grew quickly. Animals often sense natural disasters - an earthquake, volcanic eruption, pending storm - before people do. The current pandemic, however, is not in that category. The goats are oblivious to this catastrophe and continue to thrive in spite of it. Visiting and photographing them has become a source of comfort as their consistency gives me a feeling of safety.
