VIEW IN MY ROOM
'Grass Cocoon' was the first significant piece that I created in my 'Women in Nature' series. My goal was to embed my model into the grass and to make her as much a part of the landscape as I possibly could. This was my first attempt to describe humanity's relationship with the natural world as I see it. We are bound to the natural world, just as my model is bound to the earth in this piece. There can be no"us" without "it." This piece is characteristic of my use of materials, models, and processes. It demonstrates my commitment to demonstrating and reaffirming a harmonious rapport between humans and the natural world.
