“Portraying abysses”, in this way Ingo Klughardt described his art work. Abysses such as addiction, abuse, inner struggle, isolation ... which he experienced himself and expressed through his photos, but also tried to control and channel. Ingo was a brilliant artist, but like so many other great geniuses, also a very ambivalent personality. A “bonvivant” and a seeker, who was constantly fighting to escape the dark, destructive side, but also was magically attracted by it. And the dark side was stronger in the end: Ingo died, only 46 years old, on October 8th 2015 in a sudden (while not unexpected), tragic way. Ingo’s legacy are hundreds of artistic photographs, all in his special style: apocalyptic landscapes, female acts, erotic art, fetish / porn art. For the first time, I would like to present these pictures and the stories behind them to a wide audience. The proceeds from the sale of Ingo’s art is intended for people in difficult life situations, especially former drug or alcohol addicts – in memory of Ingo’s own battle against addiction.
