Hill of the Red Fox The Hill of the Red Fox is a dramatic extinct volcano on the Isle of Skye in the Scottish Highlands. It forms part of the Trotternish Ridge at the top end of our island and in Summer, it is covered in thick, green grass dotted with our native black face sheep, looking so small on this vast mountainside. On wonderful, atmospheric days, when the sunlight is strong but there is a lot of mist and cloud moving in the wind, the light flits across the landscape creating vivid pools of colour and highlighting the texture of these ancient mountains. It is almost as if there was a sumptuous green velvet blanket draped across gritty, black rock. The path to the top of the hill disappears into the mist, looking at it I found myself wondering about being up there in the surreal atmosphere of the clouds. Printed at 45 x 30 inches including a 2 inches white border with the signature, title and edition number under the image in the border. Printed on beautiful thick fine art paper with a watercolour texture to bring out the texture of the mountains against the moody skies backdrop.
