Bárbara Traver (b.1992) is a photographer and artist based in London, UK. She studies photography at the Espai d'Art Fotogràfic school. In 2016, she obtained a scholarship to pursue a Master's in Creation and Production in Valencia, and in 2017 and 2018, she received two more scholarships to study contemporary and Neo-documentary photography at the EFTI school in Madrid She has had her work published in magazines such as TELVA, NEO2, Tzuji Design and Vogue Italia. Her photographs have exhibited in galleries and photography fairs, such as Rencontres d'Arles. At the age of 12, Bárbara won a photography prize in her hometown (Guadarrama, Spain). And has been passionate about photography ever since. She has shown her work and received international awards such as the Nikon Photo Contest in Japan in 2015, the Seminario Fotoperiodismo Albarracín in 2018 and the IPE 164 The Photography Society Professional Photographer Award in 2022. Bárbara sells her art to collectors, decorators and architects. Also teaches photography in schools. She draws inspiration from Flemish painting, Japanese culture and other contemporary photographers. She combines it with philosophical literary works. Her recurring themes and interests are memory, identity and self-fiction. Barbara is best known for capturing the the idiosyncrasies of the mundane. She believes that creation happens through the interactions between people and their environment. Her style is a domestic style. Not homemade or amateur, domestic. A style that mixes the intimate and the daily, the informal and the affective.
