Alberto Sipione, Doctor of Nothing (International Situationist University), was born in Syracuse in 1968. At the age of 20 he approached analogue photography in Black and White. He was interested in social reportage and social photography. Twenty years later he will personally meet his teacher, Pino Bertelli with whom he links a ten-year partnership. He is fascinated by the theories of Unitarian Urbanism developed by the Situationist International, and bases many of his works on Urban Geography. With a step back among the avant-garde he knows, cares for and is linked to surrealist themes. Among his bad teachers Benjamin Peret, George Bataille and Pierre Molinier. He defines photography not as a pure means of aesthetic and technical masturbation but linked to other disciplines that question and dream of a radical social change unrelated to any commemoration commemoration.
