From the series The Universe inside a Dream The Universe inside the dream depicts the journey through worlds of memories, experiences, tangential thoughts and diverging feelings. The Dreamer(s) inhabit a surreal space, both creating and being consumed by the worlds they pass through. The Dreamer, like those who gaze upon it, is trapped in its consciousness and cannot escape from its own mind. I have chosen to use the medium photography to convey the dream universe because sometimes dreams can be both very realistic and very surreal. Combining photography with other media, such as paint, I attempt to capture the real and surreal within a single poignant image. I use mixed media to give the image or ‘dream’ a very visceral feeling and to interact with my work on a physical level.
