ABOUT THE ARTWORK

May, 2 - Day of the great campaign for the Ring. This day we planned to shoot fishing bridges, where the previous evening I dropped a rare and expensive filter adapter ring for 17mm tilt-shift in the cloudy waters (the key word is ‘rare’, since I would have to order it in England and wait for delivery). My friend noticed my frustrated look and came to help me. He measured the depth with a stick. It was about a meter, but I did not want to go and grope (I could see absolutely nothing). Suddenly it came to me in a flash, then it was the tide, and later the ebb should begin. I checked – it was true. The water is expected to move away from the shore by 1.2 meters, but at 2 a.m.! And we lived about 40 minutes drive away. Again, the friend was my company in a campaign for the ring (he said he would shoot stars and took a pillow). So, a two-hour sleep, "campaign for the Ring" (I found it exactly where I dropped it), return (the stars fall wrong and we did not shoot them), a two-hour sleep and shooting at the same place, but with a whole group. Then morning port wine, breakfast and departure to Lisbon to the plane home. The author controls the printing personally. All photos are printed on high quality archival paper (acid-free paper) Hahnemuhle. Each photo is supplied with a numbered Certificate of Authentication and an author’s signature.

Limited edition works are in private collections in Russia, Ukraine, Switzerland, the USA, Cnina and other countries. Why do I take photos? It is one of the ways of unobtrusive communication with the world, a form of meditation. My internal strings vibrate with a gentle timbre and crawling sensation while I shoot nature. A photo for me is an opportunity. The opportunity to break out of the routine, the opportunity to enjoy, the opportunity to experience, the opportunity to look and see a little differently. My work is not a documentary fixation of reality, it is an attempt to convey moods and sensations, elusive and inexpressible fluids. At the same time, I do not contradict the documentary matter of photography. I do not bring any rude interference, changing the digital reality for the sake of efficiency. All the pictures are authentic, with no graphic edition. It is a balance between the edges of reality and some subtle substances. It is a trying to touch a stretched veil between the familiar and inexplicable matters. To breathe the air of another world without damaging the sensitive membrane. To see the elusory things and remain unnoticed. To look beyond the land of Deepwater Fish. I talk about the beauty in ordinary things.
