I choose these wild peaches because of their colour, soft skin and round, clumsy form. The light handling go's back to the Old Dutch Masters, with the clair obscur light. Dark background and lights on the subjects give a focus on the peaches. The pop out and show their beauty.

I am raised in the Burgundian south of the Netherlands, studied art history (specialization 17th century Dutch Visual Arts) at the University of Utrecht, where I have build up my imaginary library. Feeling the urge not only wanting to consider art, I started at Statief in Utrecht my photographers education to create art, with a great interest in still lifes.The common thread of my still lifes is stillness. For me, everything comes to life in the tranquility of photography.The natural forms of fruit and vegetables, for example, are photographed as if each object has a personality. My still lifes are actually portraits to me. I choose the compositions carefully, and hope to give a balanced result, creating something extra, such as the depiction of movement or lightness.Time has just stopped, to enjoy the simple beauty of nature even more.
