I've chosen a series specifically for Saatchi Art Collectors and Curators that is composed of 13 images from my body of work that honor the feminine spirit - its mystery, fire, passion, intensity, softness and determination. As with the soul of every woman, each piece is rich with a deeper meaning beneath the surface. La Femme X signifies the fire and force of the feminine spirit. Over centuries, that spirit has been repressed or worse, oppressed, in the name of power, control and, ultimately, fear. I believe that it is now rising and will rage for a time, not to dominate, but to awaken so that it can then settle about it's work of bringing balance, equality and compassionate humanity back into the world. My son and I made this image together. He lit sparklers and smoke bombs while I employed slow shutter speed work. We both were thrilled with the result. He is my abstract, kind hearted, deep thinking man child who asked one night before bed "Momma, what is a feminist". When I explained that a feminist stood for equality not just between genders, but for all people equally regardless of race, class, gender, etc., he proudly declared "well then I definitely am one." *Please note* Prints are produced on demand. Please allow 2-3 weeks turn around time for your artwork. Each J.Genevieve Limited Edition Fine Art Print is printed on archival quality Hahnemühle Rag Paper, signed and numbered. Print size includes white border. 25 prints are available. Once that limit is reached, printing for that image/size will be closed. Colors may vary from screen to screen and therefore may differ slightly in the final printed work.

At 17, Jess picked up a camera and has not strayed far from it since. As a natural shape shifter, she can adapt and navigate within most situations. However, her true nature is quiet and observant - she has a quiet power, a quiet wild and a quiet strength. It was no wonder that a natural connection developed with the ability to communicate with others by showing vs. telling. Within photography, she found a voice for herself. And others. Jess has photographed in various capacities for over 20 years, honing her own specific style of social documentation and launched her own brand, J.Genevieve in June of 2019. Her belief is that while the truth may be ugly, honesty, not appearances, is best form of beauty. She prefers to photograph the real of it as it unfolds in front of her. Her muses are the process, real life, unideal lighting situations, unfiltered emotion, wild forms and honest souls. Jess built her first business and taught herself the foundations of photography as a stay at home mother raising two children under two. For her, life has been surprising, mundane, transient, beautiful, chaotic, devastating, empowering and all things in between. Through each changing rhythm, photography remained in her world as a thread of hope, provision and freedom.
