Tiny landscapes appear as mountains on an outgoing tide at sunset. Formations set by receding water create minuscule hill ranges in a line, catching the light. Constantly subjected to the erosional force of the ocean working to tear them down, their form, structure and alignment are always changing. The idea was to fool the observer in to thinking these 'mountains' are bigger than they look. This series was awarded Highly Commended in the 2018 Photographer of the Year (Landscape) Each photograph comes with a Certificate of Authenticity All prints are archival pigment prints on Ilford Gallerie Smooth Pearl 310gsm and are unmounted Photographs have a 5cm white border to assist framing

Victoria McNeill is a multi-award-winning, Sydney based photographer with a background in Graphic Design. Born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand she spent much of her early life surrounded by beaches indulging in windsurfing and sailing. Graduating from AUT, she moved to Sydney to further her career, spending several years designing for the corporate world in the areas of brand and project management, design and art direction. Having been traditionally trained in photography and with a ‘you only get one chance’ attitude, she approaches using digital photography the same way. Her works look closely at the landscape, and its relationship with the sea and sky. Victoria explores its everchanging forms and aims to help people renew awareness and appreciation of their environment, always trying to avoid much represented clichés of coastline imagery. Although Victoria has a strong focus with the ocean and underwater photography, with the current situation facing the world she has looked closer to home for inspiration. Victoria also has a passion for road cycling and shooting bike races. Certificate of Authenticity supplied with all artworks.
