Macro photography of ice.

A bit strange thoughts... but it is like this:
A shaved hedgehog that can prick even without needles, as it is ice.

Winter is finished!
VIVA SPRING!

The photo is printed (Giclée) in a limed edition of 9, in the size of 40 to 50 cm, using fine-art Baryta Satin paper from Hahnemuhle and 12 colors inks from Canon. Each photo is signed and has a certificate.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"The Last Day of Winter" is a fine art photography print that captures the final piece of ice in the artist’s garden, beautifully illuminated by the soft light of the setting sun. This macro photograph invites viewers into a world where imagination meets reality, where a simple piece of ice, with its crystalline clarity, subtly evokes the form of a hedgehog—though without the familiar spikes. It's a playful illusion, where the ice seems to prickle with the last remnants of winter's chill, just before it melts away. This artwork is part of a collection that celebrates the beauty in everyday moments and the quiet transitions in nature. Ideal for art collectors, galleries, and those seeking a unique and evocative piece for their home, office, or hotel decor. "The Last Day of Winter" serves as a serene, thought-provoking presence in any space. PRINT INFORMATION: Gicleè print on Canson Fine Art paper + COA Image size 39x48.5 cm Limited edition 9
Signed, numbered and printed by the author ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Inna Etuvgi, hailing from Russia's Arctic shores, brings her technical background to light as a Swedish art photographer. Her artistic journey began in 2020, and in 2022, she gained recognition as a finalist in the Arte Laguna Prize 16. In 2023, she received an honour from the Swedish Arts Grants Committee. Etuvgi’s works are featured in “Photography in the Visual Culture” 22/23 book. Navigating life with Aphantasia, Inna's mind doesn't visualise, but it pulsates with vivid concepts, emotions, and sensations. She uses her camera not merely to explore the world but to externalise her unique mental landscapes, making them visible. Art critic Tabish Khan says about Inna’s art: “her work is about transporting us to other worlds - both real and imaginary, but always in harmony with nature. She may have a mind blind to visualisation, but she has eyes and a camera that capture the beauty in the worlds that the rest of us often overlook and take for granted.”

My work is a response to the delicate balance of life that I learned to respect growing up in the Arctic, where survival depends on the smallest signs of nature. Through macro photography, I magnify the hidden beauty of mosses, lichens, and dewdrops—overlooked organisms that play an essential role in maintaining ecosystems—challenging the human-centered worldview. With Aphantasia, my inability to visualize images internally, nature becomes my external mirror, reflecting my inner landscapes, coloured with emotions and sensations. This intimate dialogue with nature drives my creative process. By incorporating AI and generative digital art, I extend this exploration, blending the organic with the technological, to examine how humans fit into both natural and social systems. Ultimately, my art serves as a reminder of the fragile interconnectedness of all life. As we push forward into an increasingly technology-driven future, my work encourages viewers to pause, reconsider their place in the world, and embrace a more mindful and compassionate relationship with nature.
