Images that arouse the mind, transform the ordinary, make one wonder, make one think. Uncommon beauty in the common world. This is what I look for in the interplay of light, shadow, and shape. And, it is what I strive to create in a photograph. I owe a debt of gratitude to those who have trusted me to photograph their creations and treasures, and for the paths their projects have helped me to find. For me, photography is an ongoing process of learning and creation, a process that never ends. Colin McRae began as a photographer of musicians for music labels and publications, later moving on to serve as the photographer for the Art Museum of the University of California at Berkeley, and eventually enjoying a long career as a freelance photographer. Currently, his work is devoted to aerial, landscape, and architectural photography with exhibits featuring his aerial and landscape work. His photographs have appeared in numerous books on art and architecture, both in the United States and abroad.
