About The Artwork
Miniature Appetite was born Dec 2013. I sprained my left ankle & my broke my right ankle. I ended up needing surgery after falling into a drainage ditch on a photo trip. I was laid up for 4-5 months and I put on weight. A few months after my ankles healed, I headed straight to a weight loss program to shed the extra pounds that I gained. While I was preparing my meals, I came up with the idea of using my life long collection of miniatures with the various foods I was eating: mostly vegetables & fruits.

Most recently, Laurie had her internationally recognized photograph 'CUBAN COOL' published in National Geographic Traveler Magazine OCT_NOV 2017; National Geographic Daily Dozen and it was chosen as one of the Editor's Favorite photographs. Laurie has also had her work juried into numerous Online Fine Art Galleries such as; Santa Fe Photography Workshops, Still Point Art Gallery, Texas Photographic Society, Photography Masters Cup, The Spider Awards, Worldwide Photography Gala Awards, TeraBella Media, and LightSpace&Time Online Fine Art Gallery.
