What is beauty When do we perceive it most intensely? For me as a photographer, beauty is the female body, the secrets of which have fascinated me over and over again for years. For me, it's not about the surface, but above all about the stories that every woman tells with and through her body, about the variety and diversity that naked bodies reveal. Whereby the nudity in my photos is relative. Because it is a hidden nudity, a reserved one that hides more than it shows. The women in my pictures are confident and strong, are admired and show emotions. They are not rigid clichés of male longings, but are themselves. My first book “Nath” (2014) deals with the dynamic between a woman, who is desired by many men, and her admirers. What happens, which looks are exchanged, which facial expressions and gestures are used? The eye of the camera observes and documents, captures fleeting moments of subtle communication. “Nath” became a bestseller. In “Bella”, on the other hand, my second book that appeared in 2017, I turn my gaze from one woman to the many. Based on the question of what beauty actually means, I photographed 50 very different women of all ages. In the exhibition in Fulda I would like to show a cross-section of all the wonderful women I have met in my time as a photographer.
