Magic is a continued photography series that I started in Detroit in 2012. It has been spreading all over the globe ever since. It’s linked to neither geography nor reality altogether. I choose subjects for my photographs exactly like a casting director chooses actors - by appearance, eloquence and the story they can tell. Every photograph is a tragicomical mono-play. The only actor is my subject - something created and abandoned by humans. When the creators leave, these actors begin their journey to serenity and death. I dress them in costumes of color and throw them the last party – as an apology for the actions of men. I create analog photography in medium format with flash painting. The colors and lighting are not CGI – it is all the result of manual effort. I illuminate the spaces with color flashlights in the absolute darkness. The objects in the dark are invisible to the eye, yet with an hour or even longer exposure, the film captures all the spectacular color magic. Be responsible. My photography is like mummification of personalised objects and a manifest against irresponsible consumerism. __ Limited edition of 10. Hand signed and numbered on the back. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. This artwork can be sold in other dimensions if necessary.
