ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork is an exploration into the notion of making things seem visually buoyant, combined with the enjoyment and glow that mango season brings to our region every November. // - This fine art limited edition print is 56 cm wide x 70 cm tall with a 5 cm border, making the finished paper size 66 cm wide x 80 cm tall. - Each print is created with care using 305gsm Moab Juniper Baryta Cotton Rag. This is a 100% cotton, true baryta (barium sulfate) fiber paper. I have chosen this paper for my work because it is able to hold detail in the shadow regions (which are signature elements of my work), while producing natural highlights and rich colours that are enhanced by the lustre of the fiber surface texture. This Cotton Rag has a high archival rating and is printed with 12 colour Canon Lucia EX pigment Inks and will last over 100 years without fading if displayed correctly. - Limited Edition of 15 in this size. - Signed and numbered by the artist, with a Certificate of Authenticity. - This artwork is sold unframed.

I’m a Conceptual Artist that loves colour. Admittedly, I have relationships with ideas. I garner the imaginary and I think nothing, at all, is ordinary. With a background in industrial design and mechanical engineering, I bring a unique blend of precision, flair and artistry to my works. I work across many disciplines - resulting in works built from a layering of photography, illustration, collage, assemblage and digital manipulation. The juxtaposition of human life and nature is of particular interest to me, as are the concepts of reality, time and perception. My work is most strongly influenced by the natural world and botanical studies, which I merge with modern techniques, styles and influences from other industries such as fashion and still life editorial. I like to produce works that are colourful, high vibe and witty, with strong narratives - like Garden-fresh Wall candy. Above all else, I like to make the mind smile.
