Alyson attended Boston University and The School of Visual Arts, earning a BFA in photography. Photographic genres include portraiture, reportage, and lifestyle. Her earliest assignments include portraits of 911 survivors at ground zero for The New York Times Magazine and The Los Angeles Times. Alyson’s clients include The New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Newsweek, Time, The Washington Post, Linked In, Cosmo, Wired, People, The San Francisco Chronicle, NBC, Amazon, among others. She has taught photography at NYU Sternhardt School, Columbia University, The School of Visual Arts, UCLA Extension, The Lucie Foundation, and the New York Film Academy. She has taught for various non-profits and co-founded a photography camp that gives scholarships to children in Los Angeles. She is a contributing artist with Redux Pictures, Women Photograph, and The Luupe. Her intention is to tell peoples’ stories respectfully and authentically.
