"Metamorphosis of pain V." Photograph

I was born in Split on 1970.I live in Zagreb,Croatia.I have been the member of HDLU and Cino club "Zagreb". The cycle of paintings in front of you is called DIVERTIMENTO-tematically,it follows a chamber orchestra concert.Music was my greatest inspiration and motive , but musicians and their instruments inspired me as well.As for painters , I admired Picasso and Chagall-my work was inspired with the coloration of their paintings and composition of art elements -the impulse to explore my own possibilities.These paintings were made in the period from 1995. to 1996. Preliminary sketches for my paintings were made during the orchestra rehearsals and concerts. Since I am an artist without a studio, I worked near a fuel tank in a small room,hardly big engouh for a large canvas.I frequently painted on my knees,because if I stood upright in such a small room, my head would touch the ceiling so I could not stabd back from the painting.That is the reason why these paintings are especially dear to me ,and I saved most of them for myself because I felt I succeeded in spite of all difficulties.This was turning-point in my life and I dedicated myself completely to art in that cycle.After this cycle,the Way of the Cross was my only work painted in oil.Now I paint in my small apartment-still without a studio-have to avoid painting with oil because of my son so I use only acrylic paints.
