A ceramic artist with multidisciplinary background in architecture and interaction design, Venty sees her sculptures as living spaces that unfold the story of the inhabitants who come and live with them. They scatter like puzzle pieces. Each story emerges seeking a connection, a meaning. Venty earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in 2003, followed by a Master’s in Design for Interaction from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), the Netherlands, in 2009. There, she deepened her understanding of user-centered design and the emotional dimensions of product experience. Her journey into ceramic art began in 2010 under the mentorship of the late Indonesian ceramic master Keng Sien Liem. Over time, she developed a distinctive style that merges design thinking with tactile experimentation. Play, serendipity, and sensory exploration form the core of her creative DNA—principles that shape both her artistic language and her approach to making. In 2017, Venty founded Prettart, a creative studio dedicated to sharing meaningful stories through art and design. The name comes from the Indonesian photography term “sekali jepret”—meaning “a single candid shot”—which captures the spirit of momentum and intuition that drives her process. This philosophy translates into her nomadic ceramic practice, where movement, encounters, and lived experiences become catalysts for new works and narratives. Each journey opens space for reflection, participation, and critical engagement.
