Hi I’m Jools Hart, born in South West London and raised on the London/Surrey borders, let's just say a while back… Like most artists I like my work to trigger the imagination of the person viewing the image. I love people watching, sitting on a bench watching the world go by and I’m always intrigued in how people look, where they going, where have they been, what do they do, what they are thinking, are they happy, sad, lonely, loved…? ….. Guessing their name or occupation is always a good one! The same applies to my photography, I slow right down (ok Im laid back) and see things in our surroundings that other people might not see. Places can trigger emotions and I try and put those emotions into my work and by sharing my work with you hopefully that might trigger an emotion but hopefully a different one to mine because we are all different and see and feel different things..that is the beauty of art and our perceptions. My journey started straight from school working for local printers as a typesetter, two years on I found myself working in the bright lights of Soho in London where I started to get into presentation graphics. The bright lights got me head hunted at one of London's leading colour reproduction company's as a very hands on Studio Manager. This ten year stint taught me the world of graphics, retouching, advertising, colour and imagery. The company expanded and one of their new ventures was a sub contract at News International in Wapping London, this new role gave me the grand title of Colour Advertising Studio Manager but yet again I was still very hands on which I liked. After five years new technology replaced the traditional gatekeeper and I created a little personal business in retouching for photographers and freelance retouching for high street fashion catalogues and famous brands. A few years later my career took an amazing twist where I became a professional football coach travelling the world. It was here I picked up the camera and became interested in becoming a serious photographer, recording my surroundings and my life journey. I still kept in touch with my retouching. My whole career I have been surrounded by beautiful images and both my father and grandfather were/is both very good artists and my eldest brother is a very good photographer. On 2015 New Years day a near death experience would carve out new beginnings.
