ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Niche" is a unique one of a kind artist proof. A juxtaposition of my journal writing, and an underwater group photograph. The writing says : Niche I don't want to be the niche that you are trying to get into. I don't want your garble, And instagram likes, I want your mind, and your truth, And your feelings, Want something greater Than all this. On a spiritual journey The pathos and ethos. The writing is obviously in revolt to how I am feeling when they tell photographers that they need to find a "niche." The excess white on the bottom of the print is to suggest that there is so much more to say.

I love exploring and pushing the boundaries with new work and old work. My main medium is photography, and I do love shooting and editing video. Going back in previous catalogues like swimming deep in the ocean to find the relics of the past to bring them to light. The bright graphic colorful series "File Under M for Memory Me." explores my images in a bold representational kind of way of points in my life that i feel are bullet points of icons. The world changed in 2020 and I’m not sure if it got bigger or smaller since Covid. These photographic images presented in a cellular way is what binds my memory and preserves the future of my photography canon. Reappropriating my previous photography giving them freedom to change sizes and shapes in a branded morphing way. The image, the icon, the flashes of memories that help me remember who I am. Graduate of Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara, CA. Los Angeles for 7 years, and presently living in Richmond, VA.
