Statement: Ours is a journey of moving forward and upward. There is no turning back! Only full steam ahead! Think of it this way, the rearview mirror in your car is small because what is behind you is not as important as what is in front of you. Description: During another load shedding outage in Cape Town, and with nothing else to do but sit in the dark on a Thursday night, I decided to go to the beach, camera in hand, to watch the Poi dancers paint with fire. Heading back home after an entertaining night, I knew that what I had captured would be another compelling art piece. I named this creative photograph 'No Turning Back' because it seems that everything in the composition is turning away from the turmoil of the past and looking to the future. Printing Material: Fine Art Archival Giclee Paper | Diasec — an archival mounting and framing method.

South Africa
I was born and raised in Vanderbijlpark, a small town in the Gauteng Provence of South Africa, in 1969. It's a heavily industrialised area where the sky is pale, grey, or brown. Not knowing what I wanted to do with my life, a friend suggested I further my education in photography. It was then that I found an outlet to the pressing need for expression, without the misunderstood external gesticulations that limit the souls' expression. The purpose behind my work is to share what I have learned, i.e. with every experience, the good and the bad, life loves, teaches, incubates, protects, nurtures, and sets us free to live and prosper if we so choose. At the age of 48, I left my hometown and moved to Cape Town, South Africa, where I currently reside, and the sky is always blue.
