Nude figurehead #1 - Limited Edition of 10 Photograph

I guess I've never liked the reality I live in. My health issues, which led to bullying in school, the unanswered questions about the medical issues I was facing led me to create my own reality where I sometimes took refuge from the rest of the world. Art is my way of presenting both that reality and the one I live in. For the reality around me I prefer black and white works and those on film best express my feelings. The one I take refuge in is a world full of colours and textures through which I express myself. I try through their representation to push the idea of photography to the limit by uniting it with painting. I love to pose on film. I find it a great way to express yourself and test new ideas. I like primarily to work on black and white film and to have the highest contrasts. I have a team of models with me and each work is a mix between my feelings and those of the model. By far the best team is with Maria Scîrlet with whom I have a very close style of thinking which has allowed us to test a series of unique ideas. The works I exhibit are not just photographs. They are my world, either the one around me or the one in my mind, and each work is a way of inviting the viewer to look at reality from my and the model's point of view. Gelu is currently working with a bunch of creative models, all pitching in for a thriving project called Artonthewall, a place of experimentation and limitless imagination. On Artonthewall you may find a variety of pictures from a broken ballerina statue to a nightmarish contortion, and all sorts of original interpretations of mythical creatures, all dipped in colourful splashes, dusty clouds or ghostly fumes, exquisite body projections and neon shapes, gorgeous artistic nudes, wonderful aerial art, bold and exhilarating bondage interpretations.
