I took a picture of a flower in Malaysia, in Love Lane in George Town, Penang. I was watching it for days before it finally exploded into a huge beautiful flower. It shined like a star in the sky.
It is a photograph, but I also hand painted over it a little bit with acrylic paint in an almost unperceivable way, but it makes the artwork more complex, powerful, original and unique.

120 x 125 cm, digitally altered photograph on textured pvc, hand painted over with acrylic paint, edition of 12, 2017

The Red Lotus (red version of this work) was recently exhibited at my solo exhibition at BACC Bangkok Arts & Culture Center and was very much loved and photographed artwork in the exhibition. See the photo album of this exhibition. BACC is an institution with a million visitors per year, so in the month of August, there were about 100 000 who saw this exhibition. https://web.facebook.com/tjasa.iris/media_set?set=a.10213384808083135.1073741880.1487184121&type=3
I added the red version to the photo gallery.

The photograph will be published in the book: TJASA IRIS, 8 MONSOONS IN SOUTH EAST ASIA, A EUROPEAN UNDER THE TROPICS, PHOTOGRAPHS 2009 - 2017, will be available available at Amazon from end of April on.

The photograph is sold unframed, but can be framed at additional cost.
