I'm the eldest daughter of artists, Gus and Betty McLaren. I have 2 children, Ella and Zac and 3 grandsons, Oliver, Luca and Gus. Being the child of artists my ceramic apprenticeship has been a very long one. Around the age of 10, my mother decided if I wanted pocket money then I had to earn it. She put me (and my 3 siblings) to work. My sister made zodiac pendants. I made mice with a leather tail, one brother made frogs holding instruments and the other brother made soldiers in combat and produced some very fine vases and bowls on the wheel.
