About The Artwork
Features Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoos, photographed in the Perth Hills (Western Australia). This image explores the disappearing of suitable habitat. Using a combination of in-camera double exposures and digital post production. Destruction of forests and woodland for housing developments has significantly reduced the habitat for Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoos. Hollows are considered “hot property” between the different species of cockatoos and parrots which all compete for hollows during breeding season. The Forest Red-tailed Black Cockatoo is one of the five subspecies of red-tailed black cockatoos native to Australia. This species is listed as Vulnerable by both the WA and Federal governments. This art was part of the 2020 BirdLife Australia Bird Week exhibition. Professionally printed on 340gsm Hahnemuhle photo rag metallic paper (unframed) Each print is signed with edition number & embossed, includes a certificate of authenticity.
