About The Artwork

Archival Digital CType Print T 120cm x 85cm Perspex (Reverse) Face Mount 3mm +Sub Frame 15mm The back story of this work is about an Alien on Venus who receives a promotional text message about the trend of doing portrait in Florence in 1400 and reaches Tuscany to get one. Alien visits Florence to have a Portrait taken by @judeblackphotography Mua: @jolanta.sewell Model: @kullakova The Portrait is taken while Alien is wearing a dress by the Fashion Designer: @steviecrowne Profile portraits, inspired by ancient medallions, were particularly popular in Italy between 1450 and 1500. Portraiture is a very old art form going back to ancient Egypt, where it flourished about 5,000 years ago. Before the invention of photography, a drawn, painted, or sculpted portrait was the only way to record the appearance of someone. Portraits have always been more than just a record... The viewers will feel the representation of the loss of awareness brought by the continuous and obsessive use of technology which spoils nature and human soul. This work has been created with optical fibres brushed on the subject using a long exposure to capture the light patterns. It hasn't been largely photoshopped as someone could think at first sight. The creation of this kind of artwork is closer to a painting development rather than a photographic approach.

Judeblackphotography is a Fashion, Still life and Fine Art photographer. Mario Negro's work is a continuous research of representing the happening of something unusual during our mechanised empty daily routine. The unexpected might manifest itself sometimes , climbing over the prewritten scheme of our social commitments. The rhythms of our post-modern society aim to bring us away from any self awareness, turning ourselves into products unable to jump out from the assembly line. The visual language of the following images might need a translation but only if the message does not manifest itself to a chosen visualiser. Jude Black has been working in London for several years and very often, especially in emails, he has been blocked because of his surname, considered a racist word. To contrast this hyper-corrective automotive and artificial attitude, he has chosen to sign his works with the name Negro rather than with the pseudonym Judeblackphotography initially adopted to communicate with clients and agencies. His interest in photography began since he was a teenager as an amplification and definition of a strong passion for the visual arts. He has studied literature, cinema and photography at the University of Bologna, where he started working as a photographer while he was a student. He has always been fascinated by the possibility of portraying intimate moments to express the psychology and the peculiar quality of the subject. He has tried to represent them by emulating painters such as Caravaggio, one of the first artists to imagine a photographic lighting technique in his paintings, and Leonardo Da Vinci who invented the smudged effect ante-litteram as it can be seen in his Salvator Mundi. As a fashion photographer he wants to describe and highlight the set of emotions generated by the dress, hairstyle, make-up and model, capable of leading the observers to a perception that goes beyond the limits of reality and connect them to the artists and authors who are presented in the shooting.Clients include: L'Officiel, Vogue, Virgin Altlantic, American Express, Levi Restaurants, Buddha Bar, Mason Circle.
