Nona De Samim is a published designer and visionary with a broad range of experience in the worlds of fashion and art, including work with British Vogue, Musee des Arts Décoratifs – Paris, Harrods & Harvey Nichols of London, Bergdorf Goodman … to name a few. Her work has been published in several coffee table books as a directional designer. She is British - Iranian and presently, resides in Los Angeles. Été Rétro™ by Nona De Samim, creates Collectible Design Objets in tandem with her collection of 'imaginary retro travel posters & 'film stills'. Été Rétro™ was born from Nona’s quintessential travels and told through the lens of this storyteller from the fashion industry. Her idée fixe on retro Côte d’Azur, passion for the Cinecittà era and 60s French cinema enrich her concept. All photographs taken on her travels and conceptualized by her. Each image is designed to look like a retro 'film still shot' - rather than a photograph. Therefore, the finished image is printed on a matte paper of 9 mil (280 gsm ) artisan quality paper, giving the perfect 'retro travel/movie poster look'.
