I am a photographer and visual artist. I was born in Upstate Pennsylvania, home to the Appalachian Mountain range in a city called Scranton, a city where I currently reside. I have been taking photographs, framing and exhibiting since 2000. I work with a Canon D-7. I most often take photographs of nature, landscapes, architectural elements, and people. I enjoy working in an urban setting and I like the countryside as a setting also. I have always taken the opportunity to visit regional museums such as The Everhart Museum in Scranton, Pennsylvania and also museums in New York City: The Frick, The International Center for Photography, The Met, MOMA, The Guggenheim, American Folk Art Museum, (soon to be acquired by MOMA), Chelsea Galleries, I-20, the Gagosian, The Whitney, Christies, and Sotheby's. I like to photograph the ordinary. Some of my work may be seen at Your Gallery ~ and I'm thankful for the possibilities this Gallery provides for artists everywhere. Artist Statement: My photographs are taken primarily in upstate Pennsylvania within a 30-mile radius of Scranton. I am largely drawn to photograph rural and city landscapes, our flower garden, architectural elements, nature, and people/portraits. I have always liked to take photographs of friends and places I visited. I especially enjoyed taking a camera along for different occasions. It is my hope as an artist/photographer that I have helped in a small way to capture the fragility of the present before it becomes a moment without record. I presently work with a a Canon D-7 and a Canon Rebel XT digital camera as backup. All digital images are printed on quality Epson paper. I seldom alter, edit, or manipulate my work to any great degree. I sometimes do minimal enhancements with Photoshop. I look for symmetry in an image and often do my own framing. I have exhibited in several and varied venues since 2000. I have select prints available through the Windsor Art Studio 408 Spruce Street in Scranton, Pennsylvania.
