Photography: Colour on Paper Year: 1998 - 2006 Location: Panevezys, Lithuania This is the first photographic cycle that I first began when I was a seventeen-year-old girl. All of the people who posed for me were close friends of mine. Most of them have since drifted away as our lives have gone on our different paths.  As such the photographs in this series provide a bridge between these people and myself, between the past and the present. I feel very sentimental when looking at these photographs. They serve not merely as a piece of art, but as something much more personal, something more akin to a family photo album.  All of these photo-shoots were a playground for our imagination and, just as importantly, they were also a place where we were safe from any form of judgement arising from being different.  A place where we could freely communicate and express our creativity. A place to be ourselves, to be free.
