Sisyphos II - Stana A limited edition box with nine reproductions of fine art prints from The Sisyphos Project. This limited edition box contains nine reproductions of images captured on instant 8 by 10 inch black and white film. The film was the first generation 8 by 10 inch instant film manufactured by the Impossible Project. The Impossible Project was recently rebranded to Polaroid Originals. The unforseeable imperfections of this first generation instant film give a unique character and expression to each image which can not be archived by any other process. The mystique appearance of the images complement perfectly to the story of ancient Sisyphos. All nine reproductions in this box are numbered and signed on the back side by the photographer Dirk Janzen. The prints have a size of 20 by 25 cm on a 26 by 31 cm sheet. The edition is limited to 10 boxes and 2 artist proofs in this size and technique and this is box No.2 of 10. The prints are reproductions of the original instant film images digitaly printed on Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta by a Hahnemühle Certified Studio in Germany. The prints are processed to the highest museal archival standards. The box is hand crafted by the artist, contains 9 reproductions in envelopes and an document of authentication. The Sisyphos Project is a ongoing long term personal fine art project of photographer Dirk Janzen that tries to visualize the story of the anchient Greek character Sisyphos in a series of black and white images. All the images are captured with analog large format or middle format cameras either on location or studio. The images have been captured with an 8 by 10 inch large format camera in autumn 2015 in Prague. The limited edition boxes from The Sisyphos Project are meticulously packed and ready to be shipped worldwide. The prints are unframed. Other prints from The Sisyphos Project are also available in different sizes and printing techniques on special request. Born 1963 in Germany Dirk started photography and darkroom work almost 40 years ago during University days. After a long break and an detour into the digital world Dirk returned to analog photography some years ago. Starting over with his old Nikon cameras he made his way to middle and large format. Build his first 8 by 10 large format camera himself and now works almost exclusively with 8 by 10 inch cameras. Currently Dirk works on his personal ongoing art project called The Sisyphos Project. In an intense, close and sometimes several years lasting cooperation with the models this project aims to visualize the story of the ancient Greek character Sisyphos in all facettes. The photographs are taken with analog large format or middle format cameras either in a studio or on location. The film is processed with traditional wet processes. Most of the prints are hand crafted in alternative printing techniques such as cyanotypie or kallitypie on Hahnemühle rag papers by the photographer. Since the paper is coated by hand every print is unique an can not be reproduced the same way again.
