I have been an active photographer since 2005. My main focus has involved landscapes and nature and I have always leaned toward making images that cannot be captured with a single point-and-shoot click. More recently, I have been interested in experimental Polaroid photography. I’ve always tried to capture landscape scenes in a different way than what I see other photographers doing, which can be hard these days with so much photography flooding social media platforms. I know that some of what I do is not favored by the algorithms, but I think that is a good thing in terms of creating art and not trying to follow trends to get the most social interaction. My photography has to speak to me and make me excited. I don’t enjoy trying to replicate what others have done. My current series, "Lifted Dreams," is comprised of multiple Polaroid emulsion lifts mounted on original ink paintings. This project was a reaction to feeling uninspired with digital technology and longing for a tactile interaction with my art.
