Splendor In the Grass This Series includes treated photographs from the collection of dried plants from ‘The Beit Hankin Natural Museum’ (whose purpose was to educate, distribute and gain knowledge) The plants in the collection were gathered from the land in the fifties by ‘Menahem Zoharoni’ (founder of ‘Beit Hankin Museum’), his pupils, and by the residents of Kfar Yehoshua. Ishay photographed the dried flowers from the collection in a meticulous fashion, documenting and cataloging each of them. Afterwards, she manipulated the photographs digitally by changing their color and character, doing so in such a way that would challenge the laws of musial documentation and preservation, by freeing the plants from the hindrance of history and natural laws, thus giving them a legendary life of their own.
