Star Girl (Canvas) - Limited Edition 1 of 5 Photograph

One of my main influences in life was David Bowie. Musically he was out there on his own and he also influenced other areas of art and fashion. As a multi platform artists myself I had made a big dent in music in particular and in the 90's shared the same U.S management as Bowie in New York . Around this time I had done a cover of one of David's track 'Lady Grinning Soul' and was keen to hear his opinion of it. As luck would have it when I popped into the office David was there. He had great sense of humour and at first wound me up about the track then told me he loved it. He then discovered that like him I was from Brixton (London) and we got talking about that before turning to the subject being a multi platform artist. I said the criticism was always don't do all the arts or be a jack of all trades and master of none, just do one. This wasn't in my nature and nor in his and he told me to ignore what people had said and that he was the embodiment of a successful multi platform artist so he it could be done and there should be no barriers. He was also a keen painter and painted every day and of coursed acted and had a hand in fashion. So, I took heart from this inspirational person and followed my path and have now made a dent in all the arts. You may be wondering what has this to do with the photo artwork you are viewing. Well as everybody knows the legend that was Bowie left this planet to seek pastures new earlier this year. Although not a best friend I did think of him as a friend and definitely an inspiration so felt his untimely death keenly and still do. Around the time of his death I was doing a photo session my current French muse (Who is also an inspiration). She is also a Bowie fan. So it was felt some sort of artistic tribute was in order ( I had already done 4 covers of Bowie songs that David loved) so I felt some sort of photo art was more appropriate. At first the track Sound an Vision sprung to mind but I thought that too obvious. So since David made his name via subjects to with space, like Space Oddity and Star Man I felt something along these lines felt right. I instantly got a vision of what I wanted and got my muse to pose a certain way. I then played around the colour contrasts and light flashes and all of suddenly this vision was in front of me. It was perfect as somehow, it had generated planets and stars around her like magic. So no planets were drawn or painted on it was just done by messing around with two effects. A Star Girl for a Star Man was born. I feel it represents the Star Girl looking out and awaiting the arrival of Major Tom, So I posted it up the day after David died and got a great response. I left it at that but many Bowie fans have asked about getting hold of this photo so This is a limited edition Canvas of five 16 x 12 Size. All will be signed with certificate
