Vladimir Mihaylov-Zenkevich was born and lives in Sofia, Bulgaria. After many years of contributing to the visual arts, he has decided to show his work and searching in art photography. Vladimir’s extensive portfolio in feature films, documentaries, television series, commercials and music videos is complemented with the diversity of long exposure photographs, shots of starry nights and the Milky way, dramatic clouds, landscapes, sea shores, still life, portraits of various Bulgarian actors, directors, artists... His professional biography has started with shooting on film and now is enriched with the digital medium. Working with the moving images, Vladimir takes the opportunity to reveal his passion and express his heart and soul in art photography. Along with his interpretations of the abstract, he shows images of the Black Sea shore with its solitary rocks and waters in black and white; night landscapes with stars and mysterious clouds; many travel findings through various countries and cities around the world. The tender touch of his eye reveals Amsterdam, Manhattan, Vienna, Rio, Florence, Merzouga, etc. in a unique way, stealing romantic aspects of their atmosphere for the audience's pleasure and delight. These photographs invite us to a world of contemplative walks, peaceful neighbourhoods, personal living spaces, places for insight and thoughtfulness. Vladimir's approach to the beauty of every site and corner, sometimes hidden in the fast pace of life, gives a chance for the spectator to touch and experience the same emotion as the photographer's. The world of Vladimir Zenkevich's photographs is reserved for those who crave for quietness and fineness, for serenity and a way to reach their inner selves.
