ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This scene caught my eye whilst walking out of the picturesque town of Taormina in Sicily. The awe inspiring view of Mount Etna in the distance and the patterns the steam was creating just a reminder of the potential power and devastation that this active volcano could unleash on this beautiful part of the world at any time. The image itself has a feeling of peace and calm as the steam slowly rises into the beautifully lit sky as sunset falls. As night time approaches and people start to think about turning in for the day, the thought of the bubbling cauldron of molten rock and fire deep inside the earth is, after all, forever at nature's mercy. This print is available as a limited edition of 10 and is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm.
