We have always theorized the existence of two worlds: an “outside” world, that is the range of our activities, and an “inside” world residing within us, which can be defined as “inner world”. The “common sense” assigns photography the mere function of mechanically reproducing – making them eternal ...

Roberto Todde, stage name Inte Jag was born in 1968 in San Giovanni Suèrgiu, Sardinia, where he lives and works. In 1999 he enrolls at John Kaverdash’s Academy of Photography in Milan. He works as a freelance photographer for twenty years acquiring a number of private and public customers. While for other photographers their technical skill derives from professional and commercial experiences, for Roberto Todde, a reserved and introspective person, the communicative approach has always been fundamental for any expressive and thematic choice. He travels on his own, he is an experimenter. A pioneer of Abstract-Conceptual photography. In fact, his pictures draw on mystical-visionary visual rules which are based on the search for an immediate contact between reality and imagination through a human light pervaded with inner shadows. His artistic career winds between the important instructive experiences he lived in his homeland, Sardinia, and the plenty towns that gave shelter to him both during his own studies and his wanderings which were characterized exclusively by his passion for photography. His eccentric and rebellious personality contributed has helped in nourishing the visionary myth of his towering and incomparable uniqueness. In fact, by facing the critical interpretation of Inte Jag’s works, we are inevitably involved in a new, mysterious and fascinating iconographic dimension: the shots belonging to the Deeper Project appear as sensory revelations. They are a kind of short circuit between the inner and outside part of his nature and, at the same time, they are the result of a deep and careful study of the photography conceptual potentialities. His camera turns into the brush of an artist whose style is far from iperrealism: what is really important for him is not the exact reproduction of the space-time reality but the exploration of the ego’s creative possibilities. Every shot is examined thoroughly and endlessly decomposed in order to discover unknown mental territorie: just as in a postmortem examination, the author’s hypnotic eye, almost pervaded with suffering, opens the doors to a mysterious world where everything becomes transfigured in order to reinvent his own absurd reality. As if hypnotized by a poetic mist, Inte Jag explores the sensuality of indefinite bodies through the traditional artistic symbols by using a never constant style, always looking for new forms of communication.
